I Am

I am fast and love to play soccer.

I wonder if I will be best as a sprinter or long distance runner when I grow up.

I hear the cheers of my team when I score a goal. 

I see the goalie dive but miss the ball as it goes in.

I want to captain the first US Team to win the World Cup.

I am fast and love to play soccer.

I pretend to be a famous midfielder on the US Team.

I feel sweat trickling down my face.

I touch the banner as I cross the finish line.

I worry that I won’t make the soccer team in high school.

I cry when I miss the finals of Olympic running events.

I am fast and love to play soccer.

I understand that you and your team can’t always win.

I say that I will try my hardest to achieve my goals.

I dream that I will win a gold medal in the Olympics.

I try to practice as much as I can.

I hope I will always believe in myself.
