Fantastic Mr. Fox

By Roald Dahl

In the book, Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl, I learned that Mr. Fox outsmarted his enemies to feed his family.  Mr. Fox has a wife and three children.  He tries to feed them, but the hunters wanted to kill him so Mr. Fox stays in his burrow with his family.  Mr. Fox dug under the ground to get farther from the hunters,

While the hunters were waiting for the foxes to come out, Mr. Fox had a clever plan to dig right under the chicken coop of Farmer Boggles.  When Mr. Fox kept digging and took the three chickens from the coop, Mr. Badger, the two foxes, and Mr. Fox brought them back to eat.  The hunters were still waiting, with their guns.  That’s how the foxes outsmarted the hunters.

Mr. Fox then dug under farmer bean’s ham shack. When Mr. Fox kept digging after taking the three chickens from the coop, then the hunters went to get shovels.

After that, they went to the coop and dug to the ham shack and got lots of food to eat as well.  While the fox was continuing his plan, the hunters went to get the backhoes.

Mr. Fox then dug some more and ran in to a brick wall.  After, he took out some bricks to make a big enough hole to fit through. They came into the cider cellar of Bounce’s house.  They heard someone coming, so they grabbed three jars of cider to drink.

Afterwards, they  got the food for a good meal they didn’t starve to death. They outsmarted the farmers!
