Flip-Flop Girl
I read the book Flip-Flop Girl by Katherine
Paterson. I learned that when you move from one country to another country,
it is hard to communicate because of different languages. When you don’t know
the language, it is hard to know the people. Also, it is hard to find friends.
That’s why Flip-flop Girl didn’t have any friends.
Her mom asked the principal to find a language teacher for the Flip-Flop Girl. He said, "Okay" and he found a language teacher. The language teacher taught her English in five years. Five years later, her classroom teacher, Mr. Clayton, asked her to try writing a story. She wrote a fantastic story. Mr. Clayton was proud of her she said, “Thank you.” Everyone wanted her to be her friend.
After she knew English, her grandmother was proud of her. Her friends became part of her family. She knew everyone and she felt happy. She could play anything she wanted to.
In conclusion, if you know the language, it is easy to find friends.
