Bound

By Donna Jo Napoli

In the book, Bound, I learned that China has different traditions and customs.  It’s about a girl named Xing-Xing who had two mothers and a father.  Her mother and father died when she was a baby.  She is now working for her second mother and her sister.

A custom the Chinese have is to bind a girl's feet to make them look beautiful.  Chinese people believed that small feet made you look beautiful.  This treatment was called "being bound."

Another custom is that the Chinese had a small crawl space that stored old family items that were passed down from great grandmother to grandmother. This small crawl space was a like a attic.

In conclusion I learned that people from China had and lot of traditions and customs that are different from the ones in our country.
