Molly in Fantasy Land

It was a beautiful summer day and Molly thought it would be a good day for a picnic at the brook. Molly thought it would be a good idea to bring her bathing suit and a towel. She went to get her cat, Milly.

"Milly where are you?" said Molly, "We’re going for a picnic."

Molly finally found Milly and started to pack a lunch for Milly, Cindy, her friend, and herself. Then she started out the door to her friend’s house. She knocked on the door and asked Cindy if she wanted to go on a picnic with Milly and her. Cindy agreed to go with then.

When they got there, Molly said "I think we should go swimming."

"Ok, we can go swimming but then we’ll eat lunch." said Cindy.

They were playing happily in the water, when Cindy and Molly got out of the water to dry off. They scared Milly and she jumped into the water. Molly ran after her when she got in the water and found Milly. The water started to get stronger and stronger. It pushed Molly and Milly down stream.

"Aahhhh! Help m…!" Milly got water in her mouth as she was yelling for help.

Soon, Molly and Milly got washed onto a beach. Molly and Milly started spitting out water and coughing.

Molly looked around. It was a strange beach. The sand was soft but it was orange. Molly saw something moving. It looked like a hermit crab. Molly picked it up and threw it.

"Ahh!" she said.

This was an odd place…first orange sand, then blue hermit crabs!

"Whats next?" she said, "giant dancing birds?"

"Actually, dancing ants." said a voice.

Molly was scared. "What was that?" she thought. She thought of running away but before she could the voice came again, but sounded different.

"Hello, is anybody there?"

"Yes" said Molly. "Who are you?"

"Who are we, you mean?" said the voice.

"Huh?" said Molly

"Yes," said the voice.

Then something came out of the bushes but it wasn’t a something; it was a giant ant! Only it wasn’t a giant ant; it was a slew of giant ants…in ballet suits! They started to dance. They danced so gracefully. Molly kept on watching. Then ,when they stopped she said,

"That was wonderful!"

"Would you like us to dance some more?" one of them asked.

"No thank you. I must be going." said Molly

"Very well" said the ant.

So they danced off into the forest.

Molly picked up Milly, who was resting in the sand of the beach. Milly went along the beach. Molly went along the beach. They came to the edge of the beach. So Molly went into the forest. Molly saw a tree and next to it was a squirrel. He looked as if he was talking to the tree. She went over to the squirrel and said, "What are you doing?"

The squirrel turned around and said in a scared voice, "I am asking the wise tree for advice. I am wondering if I will have enough nuts for winter," he finished in a squeaky voice.

"Hello there." said the tree.

"Hello." said Molly in a scared sort of voice.

"Do you have a problem?" asked the tree.

"Yes," said Molly "You see I fell into a river, and so did my cat." She said still holding Milly " and so I am stuck here. Do you think I will find my way back?"

"Let me answer that in riddle" said the tree " you are seeing what you’re not see, to see you must open your eyes," and her face went away.

"What?" said Molly, but she was too late.

"That doesn’t make any sense."

"Ha!" and she started off.

She saw a clearing full of green grass. She felt tired. She laid down and fell asleep. Soon, she felt Milly rubbing against her, purring. She opened her eyes and stood up. She looked around. Then she saw something moving in the grass. She picked up Milly and went over. She fell into water… very fast water! "AAAhhh!’ she screamed.

She only held onto Milly’s collar. Milly meowed. Molly saw a big wave in front of them. Suddenly the wave came down. Molly screamed.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes. She was back on the bank next to the brook. She was dry all over. Milly was sleeping next to her and Sally was lifting her head.

"What happened?" said Molly.

"Nothing, we have been sleeping for over 30 minutes." said Sally

"But what about the fast water and the dancing ants and the blue hermit crabs and the talking squirrel and the trees with faces and…!" said Molly.

"What?" said Sally?

" Nothing." said Molly and she laid back down.
