Midnight Magic
A book review by Tim

Imagine being a slave, only living to do your masters bidding. Fabrizio is that person. He serves his master, Mangus, The Magician.
In 1491, Fabrizio was playing with a pack of Tarot cards. Tarot cards are cards that can predict your master’s future. On the stroke of midnight, Fabrizio turned over 9 cards in this specific order: THE MAGICIAN, THE SERVANT, THE CASTELLO (Which means castle in Portuguese.), THE KING, THE GHOST, THE PRINCESS, THE TUTOR, THE QUEEN, and then the last card was DEATH! You’ll figure out what the cards mean if you read this book!
Soon Fabrizio and his master find themselves in front of the king of Pergamontio, who is fearing that his daughter has been seeing a ghost. Is it true?
Avi made this book a major page turner. One of the examples was the amount of excitement. It was very thrilling when Fabrizio learns who the ghost really is...
Another example is the suspense. If Fabrizio and his master say the ghost is real, then they die. If they say the ghost is fake, worse evil will come then.
The mystery definitely keeps you mystified. If not, why would Fabrizio get sent to the dungeon for no reason at all?
Last, but not least, the book contains a shocking amount of intelligence. For example, when Fabrizio uses the power of reflection for a life saving cause, he makes light bounce off a mirror so it appears like a ghost.
Is the ghost real? It takes friends like Princess Teresina and a kitchen boy Rinaldo, and even enemies like Count Scarazoni to find out!
If you read this book you will agree that the circumstances lead to a very good experienced book!
