Because of Winn-Dixie

If you like helping dogs then you would love this book called Because Of Winn-Dixie. It is a story full of joy and excitement about a girl named Opal who moves to Naomi , Florida one summer with her father. Her mother had left her when he was a baby . The story all started when Opal’s father, the preacher( who isn't very nice), sent Opal to the Winn-Dixie grocery store to get some milk and stuff. When she got there, there was a dog running around the store. The manager asked whose dog it was. Opal lied and said it was hers so she took the dirty, skinny dog, with patches of fur missing,home. . Her dad let her keep him. Soon, they got the dog in good shape. In the middle, Winn-Dixie helps Opal make friends like . . . Mrs. Franny, the librarian, Sweetie PieThompson, the Dewbeery boys,Otis,Gertrude and Gloria Dump.

Gloria Dump is a lady that the Dewbeery boys used to call a witch but when Winn-Dixie runs into her yard, Opal comes running after and finds out that Gloria is really nice. She meets Otis too. He works at a pet shop and has a bird named Gertrude. Mrs. Franny is a librarian and Sweetie Pie Thompson is a younger girl.

Near the end, Gloria Dump and Opal have a party with everyone there. A thunder storm comes and Winn-Dixie usually goes wild . When they can’t find her, they got scared and looked all over. When they came back, fortunately Winn-Dixie was under a chair. Because of Winn-Dixie is a great book and I think you should read it.
