Mrs. Gurwicz's Second/Third Grade Loop
2007-2009

"Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand."
~ Chinese Proverb ~

Our class is comprised of many interesting and unique individuals. During our time together, each person is engaged in many in depth areas of study. Our web site is intended to show our viewers some of our studies and areas of interest.  It is also intended  to inform parents and students about classroom and team happenings. The pages reflect the students' desire to share their learning and to help others learn.

We know that everyone has something to teach. We also realize that we are forever learning.

Sound:

We are wrapping up our study of sound. Students are completing HyperStudio presentations on important aspects of sound.  Students have created cards on vibrations, volume, echo, pitch, sound waves, and more.  Children have learned to add sound effects during transitions and to add wav files and add buttons.  Some people have included dolphin sounds by creating invisible buttons over pictures of dolphins!  Everyone is recording their own voices for at least one page of the presentation.  Very exciting work!

Everglades:
Aland created a PowerPoint presentation on his recent trip to the Everglades!  Wonderful!
