Get your guns, utensils and all of your hunting gear, cause we’re going on a trip in the woods! Solomon has many adventures ahead in the woods. We are going to join him on his trip.

I the beginning of Green Mountain Hero Solomon’s barn gets caught on fire, they think it was either because of wet hay or Zeek Jenny, who is a bad man. The people that saw the fire came right away and put water on the sides and roof of the house. They put the fire out that night.

The next morning Solomon and his father went in the woods to look for a place to build a new house, because Solomon’s mother was having a baby and their house was too small. That night, in the woods, Amos woke up and heard wolves howling. Solomon woke up too. Solomon’s dad told him that they were surrounded by a pack of wolves. They got out their guns and that night Solomon and Amos shot some of the wolves. Amos said, "When they get hungry, they will eat each other." None of the wolves came too close to the camp because of the fire.

In the morning they set off again. They bought a canoe when they reached the river and went on by boat. They finally found a place to build their new house. They cut down trees. While they were working there they met the Smauleys, a nice family that lived down the river. Their two boys helped to build the house. On Amos’ birthday they had a roof raising, and the Smauleys came to the help.

There are many more adventures ahead for Solomon in this book. I really enjoyed reading this book because I like adventures. I would recommend it to kids my age. I you would like to find out the rest, you will need to read the book.
