Green Mountain Hero
Edgar N. Jackson
Reading Response By J.
People who like adventure should read this book. I like this book because I thought it was very interesting and full of adventure. There was a lot of traveling. The characters saw many people and places.
The excitement came as Solomon and his father traveled from town to town in search of land to build a home. I think this book was exciting because things were always happening. There was a fire in their barn so they wanted to leave home. The attack by wolves, building a new home, adjusting to harsh winters… all were exciting. The barn fire began the adventure because the Story family then decided to move to Vermont. The wolf attack came next. It was exciting to see that Solomon picked up his musket to kill a wolf. It interested me that the wolves were so hungry that they turned on their own pack and ate the wounded wolves. The barn fire and the attack by the wolves got me interested in this book because it was very thrilling and I wanted to see what would happen next.
I would recommend this book to my sister and other people who might enjoy interesting stories. They might enjoy the excitement of the wolf attack. They might like Ann Story, who is a woman and a hero. In fact, there are many heroes to read about in this book.
