We took this picture at Button Bay. This is a squirrel’s nest in a canopy. A canopy is the top of tall trees. Squirrel’s nests are important because they keep the cold from getting in. They are at the top of the canopy and that keeps other animals and danger away. Squirrels have more than one nest. Squirrels have different nests for winter and summer. Squirrels cannot be kept as pets because they are wild. Squirrels make up one of the largest families of rodents.
