Kids with Burrow

By

Devin

This is a fox burrow that Charlie, Jonathan and I found. We wanted the fox to come out. We wondered if the fox was inside. Dens of different kinds of foxes may be underground, in a hollow log or tree, in a cave, or among rocks. Most red foxes enlarge burrows of other animals but some dig their own dens. An underground den may be as long as 75 feet (23 meters) and have several entrances.

Newborn foxes have a short muzzle, closed eyes and after five weeks, they start to eat solid foods. To get the solid food they have to leave the burrow. They learn to catch prey. They eat rabbits, mice, birds, frogs, insects, and lizards. They also eat many kids of fruit and dead animals.
