Hike Through Button Bay
By Portia
Our classes hiked at Button Bay. We saw lots of stuff like a squirrel’s nest, a foxhole, a turtle on a rock in the water, a garter snake, a water snake, some fossils, a snake hole, a dead moth, a toad, and some deer paths. We investigated the rocks by Lake Champlain. We noticed fossils and cracks in the rocks.
I liked seeing all of the neat fossils. In the woods, I liked seeing the trees that were gray and pinkish red. I think they must be very old because of their color. We searched for some buttons and everyone got at least one button.
