| The children in our class have been engaged in researching the animals of New England. This research involved reading material from our library and classroom as well as learning how to conduct a safe search on the internet and using Yahoo Kids as a search engine. Students were encouraged to utilize sites that offered video clips and sounds of their animals. In many cases, we found pictures of tracks as well. Students inserted pictures of their animal. Finally, each child thought of a good "hook" for the written report, often using a joke found during the safe search.
