Dr. Eustis, Veterinarian

On Tuesday, October 30th, Dr. Eustis visited our classroom to meet with our second grade team.  Dr. Eustis is a South Burlington community member.  He also serves the community by taking care of our animals.
Dr. Eustis asked the children, "What do you think a veterinarian does to help the community?"   He spoke about how vets help protect the public.  They help prevent people from getting many diseases.  In addition to taking care of sick or injured animals, vets watch out for diseases that can get into the population.
We learned a lot about what veterinarians do to help animals and people.  We saw x-rays of various animals, asked many questions, and used various pieces of equipment that a vet must use like an otoscope to check ears and a stethoscope to listen to heartbeats.
Thank you to Dr. Eustis and to his technician, Jessica, for visiting us and sharing their knowledge!

We learned so much from this experience.

Thanks Dr. Eustis and Jessica!
