The Journey
of Lewis and Clark We have traveled the trail of Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery. Students in our class have collaborated with group members throughout this project. Teams were required to take on roles as members of the Corps of Discovery. Each team member created a journal documenting highlights from the long journey from the perspective of a botanist, zoologist, Indian Affairs Expert, or a topographer. As a team of four, students created a board game that maps out their journey for the rest of the class. Each student became an expert in a particular field. Referring to their journals in order to recall what they learned, students created game cards to be used during the game. In this way, everyone was able to learn about interesting and important information about Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery and their mission. |
