Everglades

 

 Everglades National Park 

     
     The Everglades are in Florida. The Everglades are very swampy and marshy and are mainly wetlands. It was a national park in 1947.  Everglades includes 1.4 million acres of land in Florida.  It is home to panthers and bobcats.  The birds of the Everglades are herons, egrets, brown  pelicans and bald eagles.  There are 100 rare kinds of birds.  The reptiles of the Everglades are alligators and green sea turtles.  Sea cows are manatees who climb up on land to hunt and rest.  
     Do you want to know about park rangers?  Park rangers have hundreds of acres of land and give  maps and the rules of the park.  Park rangers have a lot of responsibility and they show the nature.  They help protect or preserve nature.  Park rangers know how to fight  fires.  Park rangers know how to take care of the animals there.
