Co President Yandow explained
the status of the Chad Hollister enrichment proposal. The PTO board has
recommended that this enrichment opportunity be offered to the K/1 house. These
students aren’t eligible to participate in the drama program or the most
recent writer-in-residence program. The PTO is waiting to hear back from the
staff on this proposal.
The PTO officers are looking
for teacher championed enrichment ideas.
Mrs. Barbara Pawluk and Mrs.
Dora Sudarsky brought forth some preliminary ideas for an artist-in-residence
program for next year (2006/2007). They are investigating the African dance
troupe which was well received at Central School. The proposed timing is March,
2007. President Yandow asked for a formal proposal.
The discussion then shifted to
a process for evaluating and selecting enrichment programs. President Yandow
recommended that the Enrichment Committee attend the staff meeting on May 1,
after school to present their ideas.
