Button Bay

Button Bay State Park is a beautiful place to visit.  Our class enjoyed the magnificent views as we learned more about the Champlain Basin geologically, historically, culturally, and while learning about the natural environment.

Our class became very excited when a map turtle was spotted sunning itself on a rock.  We were very interested in seeing wildlife in their natural habitats.

What fun!!!!  We searched the beach for clay concretions, otherwise known as clay buttons.  These concretions have geological and historical connections.  Our students loved having the opportunity to search for buttons on a neighboring beach to Button Bay.  What a great way to end the day of discovery!

What a great opportunity to see evidence of the geologic history of the area!
