In developing the tasks below, we recognize that students need to be able to use information technology tools to succeed in today's world. We also believe that technology tasks must be integrated into the curriculum at each grade level. Technology-related skills should not be taught independent of the curriculum. The following sets of tasks are definitely works in progress. We welcome any comments.

The state of Vermont has developed Information Technology Grade Expectations (GEs). They will be used as a guide for instruction and assessment of information technology skills and concepts in the South Burlington School District.
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has developed National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for students, teachers and administrators. The 2007 NETS for students "identify several higher-order thinking skills and digital citizenship as critical for students to learn effectively for a lifetime and live productively in our emerging global society."
