The Oregon Trail

Visit the Oregon Trail site: http://www.isu.edu/%7Etrinmich/Oregontrail.html and answer the following questions:

In the section All About the Trail read each link and answer the following:

1. What states would not be part of our country if the Oregon Trail did not exist?

2. What were the emigrants biggest problems along the trail?

3. In the section "Jumping Off" what does that term mean?

4.  What would a family of four need for the trip?

5. What would happen if a family over packed?

6. Using the Fantastic Facts link: Explain the Oregon-bound airline of 1849.

7. Read all the links under "Fantastic Facts" and tell us about ten facts that are interesting to you.

8. You should now be an expert on the Oregon Trail. Test yourself - go to Oregon Trail Expert Puzzle-print yourself a copy and take the test.
