Angry Aphrodite
by Maura

One day, Aphrodite, the most beautiful Greek goddess in Greece, was walking on Mount Olympus where all the gods and goddesses live.  Aphrodite was the goddess of love and beauty.  She could do bad things with her powers, like give people cow horns or donkey ears.

As Aphrodite approached Zeus' throne, she froze.  She saw Zeus sitting on his throne throwing lightning bolts at Greece.  He looked angry.  Aphrodite waited until his anger died down.  After that, she walked right up to him, said, "Hello," and then started a conversation with him.  After a little while of talking, Aphrodite asked what Zeus had been throwing lightning bolts at.  He said that Adonis hurt his father on purpose and he had to pay the price by getting hurt himself.  "How could you?" replied Aphrodite.  "Now poor Adonis is hurt because of you."  Then her anger burst.  She used her power and gave Zeus donkey ears.  Then she ran as fast as she could until she got home.  When she got home, she fell fast asleep.  She had a dream that everybody hated her because of what she did to Zeus.

The next morning, Aphrodite realized that she should go apologize to Zeus.  She did and she took the donkey ears back.  Then they were friends again.
