Owney in Vermont

In September 2005, Owney happened to make it to Vermont just in time for Orchard School's annual "Hike for Hunger."  Students at the school join with others from around the state to raise money for the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger.  To find out more information about this group, please click on the image to the left.  To find out more about Owney, click on his name anywhere it appears on this page.

Owney was a great help with our schoolwork!

Here is Mrs. Lawrence's class, just before heading out for the hike up 968 foot high Mt. Philo in Charlotte, Vermont.

Students took turns carrying Owney in their backpacks up Mt. Philo.  He was very well behaved and hardly barked at all!

Lunchtime at the top!

Here are Mrs. Lawrence and Mrs. Waltien's classes at the top of Mt. Philo.  What a view they had!  Owney is being held by the boy in the red shirt standing in the middle of the back row.

Owney is proudly wearing his "Hike for Hunger" pin.

We hope that you have a great trip to Connecticut and then to the rest of the states, Owney!!
Thanks for visiting us in Vermont!
