Animals of the Eastern Woodlands: Grades 2&3

Welcome Junior Rangers! You have just been chosen from an elite group of students from around the country to help create our new Eastern Woodlands Animal Reserve. This land is set in northern New York and will be home to thousands of animals but we need your help to make sure that the habitat has everything the animals will need.

Below, you will find a list of some of the different animals that will live in the Reserve as well as some information about their lives (what part of the woodlands they live in, what they eat, how they build their homes and how they raise their young).  These are the animals that we need more information about. Before we can officially open the Reserve, we need to make sure that every animal will be able to survive and live happily. Click on the name of each animal, one at a time, in order to answer the questions on your worksheet. The information you gather will go directly to the Reserve Center so that we can make sure that every animal will feel right at home.

Good Luck!
