Dora’s Childhood By Noah and Ethan
12/13/07 We went on a field trip to the Pillsbury Manor to interview senior citizens. My partner was Ethan. The person we interviewed was named Dora Campbell. She was born in Montpelier, Vermont and has three kids and eight grandkids and her great aunt wrote a book called, Old Mother Moon. She is eighty- six years old. Dora did not live on a farm, but her father did when he was little. For a pet, Dora had a cat that looked like a tiger. Dora played hide-and-go-seek and baseball when she was little. Her favorite subject in school was reading. For transportation, her dad didn’t have a car so he rented a horse and buggy for her birthday and she liked that because not too long after, her dad started getting cars. When Dora was little, her favorite place to go was Curtis Pond to see baby ducks. She didn’t swim in the pond; she waited until there was a pool around. She had a best friend that lived down the road. Dora looked up to her. They made mud pies together and rode on tricycles. Dora’s favorite holiday memory was hanging Hershey Kisses on the Christmas tree. Dora is now living in South Burlington, Vermont at Pillsbury Manor. |
