On January 18th, Orchard School was fortunate to host Cheryl McClung Garner. Cheryl taught six presentations to the kindergarten through fifth grade students. She told them about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his famous 1963 "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." Cheryl taught all the students King's saying, "The time is always right to do what is right." Students role played real life situations which reinforced this message. At the end of the day, the entire school gathered to sing in an assembly. Below, are three of the songs sung during the school celebration. Click on the links and enjoy! |
