Kids on the Block Visit Orchard School
September 17-21, 2004

Kids on the Block presented a whole school assembly, visited the PTO's Family Fun Night, and even met with groups of two classrooms at a time.  As their web site says, "Kids on the Block - Vermont is dedicated to teaching children in Vermont how to keep themselves safe and healthy and to appreciate each other's physical and cultural differences. Using life-sized puppets, this educational program seeks to create a community that helps children realize their full potential."  We're so glad that they spent time with us!

We learned ways to deal with a bully.

We also learned to respect cultural differences.

On Friday, at the PTO Family Fun Night, we had a chance to work with the puppets ourselves.
On Monday and Tuesday, in small groups, we talked more about strategies for dealing with uncomfortable situations.  We even did some role-playing.

Thank you Kids on the Block - Vermont!
