China Presentation 2004

All six kindergarten and first grade classes ended a study of China with a sharing day for parents and friends on December 17, 2004.  Here are some pictures from this celebration.

Since Mrs. Peabody spent time in China last summer, she had much to share with the students in the K-1 wing.

Here, the students perform....

...a ribbon dance.

A Monkey Dance.....

.....was performed on the stage.

All the students learned how to say words and phrases in Chinese.

They taught the audience.

Our turn......

...now you try it.....

Tai chi was challenging....

...and lots of fun, too.
The students learned some Chinese songs and some played instruments to accompany their classmates.

There was so much for parents and friends to see in the classrooms!

Here's the Chinese zodiac!

There were books to share...

...and chopsticks to master.

Making prints was fun, too!
Students shared with their families the many things that they learned about China.

A slide show of Mrs. Peabody's China pictures entertained and informed.  Each classroom also presented HyperStudio shows of students' drawings about something that they learned about China.
Even the hallway was filled with the students' learning about China.

A dragon kite flew the length of the K-1 hall.

From the smiles on our faces....

...you can see that we enjoyed all that we learned.
